responding...I just discovered the TOFU "edit" filter (nice feature).
I have the compressor in place now as described and it seems to be working
OK. My mug of beer on a nearby shelf shakes a bit less now that the
compressor is mounted--very unscientific method, but tasty!

The flex hose is a one foot piece of rubber coated with braided stainless
steel, inside diameter of 1" IRC. I'm not sure where it came from since a
friend made the original purchase (he's on this list, perhaps he'll
remember)--maybe Harbor Freight?

I've never heard of the sorbothane, but we did use the unisorb pieces when I
worked in a machine shop years ago. I was unable to find the unisorb by
name at McMaster or Grainger, but I did see pieces at Grainger that look
near identical to what I used in the machine shop. There were a couple on
EBay for $30, but it looks like over $100 to get them from Grainger. I'll
keep my eye out for a cheap set of four on EBay.

Another list member suggested that I use authomotive polyurethane bushings.
Too bad I through away a full set of Energy Suspension bushings before we
moved--I told my wife I would need all those parts for cars we no longer
own! LOL If I can find some cheap bushings I might substitute them for the
hockey pucks...of course that will necessitate another pseudo-scientific
test with a mug of beer.
