  Since I sent this, I kept looking for other something and I found a FLUKE 
88 that will do what I need, however it is a digital multimeter and I think 
out in the driveway and sunshine a digital unit will be hard to read.  I 
also found another digital inductive tach that was only a tach and nothing 
else but again digital.

   Messing about in a sunny driveway is somewhere where I think a good old 
analog is best, that needle makes it easy to read.  BUT I still have not 
found one and I am still looking.
