I'm a gal, can I still respond?  ;o)

I have three of those 18-drawer units (roughly 14"w x 18"t x 7"d) hanging in 
my laundry room.
Each battery type has its own drawer.  I make sure that like ends are 
together (+/+ or -/-).  This
arrangement holds quite a few batteries.

I also use these for nails-splices-miscellaneous for those times when I 
don't want to go to the shed or garage.
