A note to 1500cc Midget owners:

If you're looking to replace the thermostat and associated gasket, pay
attention to what the parts person hands you. If (s)he looked it up under
MG, there's a good chance that he thermostat will be fine, but the gasket
will be wrong. While the thermostat remained unchanged in basic design and
dimensions for all our Midgets and MGBs, the thermostat >>housing<< is
different for the Midget 1500. You will want the gasket that fits a
Tr*umph Sp*tf*re. If they hand you a gasket with three bolt holes, it's
the wrong one.

The good news is that, armed with this information, you can safely purchase
these bits at almost anyplace that has the "carded" thermostats and
gaskets, and a look-up book.
