To Tom, and others who have suggested I might pull parts for them from the
1973ish Midget in the Southern California junkyard I described in my
"Strange Encounter" story . . .

Unfortunately I have to be out of town this weekend, and I think the car
will be crushed by the following weekend.

I would suggest as follows: maybe someone on the List in the Orange County
California area, or Long Beach vicinity, would volunteer to go to
Pick-your-part auto junkyard in Stanton. On Beach Blvd, just south of Ball
Rd. The car is in the import section, south of the main east-west
"interior road" by about 5 cars. It's roughly due south of the cashier's
stations.

This is a list of parts (as of last Sunday): 1275 engine and head, tranny,
nice crossflow radiator, hood, doors, steering rack, most lamps, 4 rostyle
wheels, rear axle, alternator, starter, distributor, front suspension,
fenders, nice bumpers - no fuel tank, seats, and dashboard is pretty hacked
up

If that person would identify himself to the List, and take orders, he
could turn a public-spirited salvage operation into a profit.

Admission is usually $1, but on Saturday everything is half price and
admission is $5. On Saturday, could get the engine and transmission for
less than $100. They have hoists.

It's just fine to send me $20 for my referral services - per part of
course. (You will find me outside the junkyard taking parts off your LBC
while you are inside.)

Daryl
