Hi all!
I have always had better luck pulling the head after unscrewing the studs from
the block. I take all the nuts and washers off, and screw two nuts onto each
stud, turn the nuts together and unscrew the stud. To me its much easier than
trying to work the head off all those studs. And when I put the head back on,
I put just two or three studs in the block to hold the head gasket in place,
much easier to set the head back down on a couple studs rather than all of
them.
Those two manifold studs under the intake are lots of fun. I grew two elbows
and got a dog leg shorty box end wrench, I stick my whole arm down there and
reach up to the stud, using my index finger of my left hand through the spaces
to hold the wrench on the nut while turning a smidge at a time with the right.
Hope this helps you!
