I started the removal of the 948 from BUGIIIS this evening and noticed that
there has been a lot of oil coming out of the valve cover vent, I mean a
whole lot of oil. I don't know when this started as I had not noticed it
before I started removing the carb. The air cleaner is VERY oily. When I
removed the vent tube there was enough oil in it to make a small puddle.

The engine only has about 1000 miles since a complete rebuild and was
running ok but power was on the low side. The last time I checked the
compression it varied from 155 to 160 per cylinder dry. Pulled the plugs and
they are just a tad dark but not oily.

Anything I should check while the engine is out of the car? I had hoped to
install it in the new car next weekend. Any thoughts on this will be
appreciated.
