Doug,

The tach cable on all the Sprites I researched when restoring the Bugeye showed
the cable exactly as you described it.  I also used Mike Lazarowicz's picture
from PDLJMPR; got to-  http://members.tripod.com/PDLJMPR/mlaz05.jpg

There is a bracket with a hole for the small end of the cable to pass thru that
bolts to the starter solenoid bracket.
