Geoff,
Don't worry about it.  That tap is, I believe, from a
servo line for some Mini application, but is commonly
used for PCV intake.  If the manifold is new the tap
is blank, isn't it?  I drilled and tapped a pipe
thread on mine to fit the valve I used, and have had
no problems.  BTW, if you were going to hook up a
vacuum advance line for your dizzy, David Anton told
me to "Y" in 2 taps from each side to avoid pulsing.
