this is an amusing topic. i have often wondered why does a back window in a
convertible top go from clear to all foggy to finally brown. mold has been
long suspect. suzuki at one point had produced a conv. top back window
cleaner/polish. this stuff worked very well. it will not restore a rear
window to like new condition but will buy time before it must be replaced.
on another note i also collect old ho scale trains and do some scale
modeling. in vintage(1940's &1950's) plastic train kits there is a mold
that seems to grow on the plastic that has a sort of wax like texture. it
can be washed away with an old tooth brush and mild detergent. what puzzles
me is the plastic mold on the trains does not attack the graphics and dosent
seem to attack the plastic fine cast details. no discoloration, not a trace
after cleaning.
so what is it with the clear plastic rear windows in convertible tops that
is so darn easily attacked and degraded? just thought i'd share my
confusion.

chuck.
what ever happened to bugeye parts cars?
