Item Description:
Terrapin Mk1a historic race car.Believed 1971.
Spaceframe chassis,all round wishbone adjustable rose-jointed
coil spring suspension and disc brakes. These cars featured in
the well known book HIGH SPEED LOW COST by Staniforth and
were built from plans he supplied.Quite a large number were
built late60s-80s and achived nundreds of wins in speed
hillclimbs and speed trials plus setting several World speed
records for small capacity cars. Built to take a MINI COOPER
engine and gearbox.
This example has a 1275 GT Mini engine with very hot cam,
double velve springs, big valve head, Weber 40DCOE etc.
not currently fitted. I am willing to sell car and engine
separately or togather if required.Unusual.Said to be only
1 of these cars in the USA at present.Plans for chassis and a
bunch of owners club technical newsletters come with the car.
