I just had the same problem, #3 on my Sprite was not responding and I
had spark and fuel.
It turned out to be the exhaust valve was set too tight keeping it open
causing the compression to sneek out when I needed it most. 
Check the valve adjustments.

Other causes could be a burnt valve, blown head gasket, hole in the
piston, or a carbon trail on the dist cap causing a missfire.
