In my considerable years of old cars (grew up in the auto biz) I pushed a
bunch..and it was my opinion that it was easier to push one off in third or
fourth gear. Not as much resistance and you can keep pushing it longer while
it is in gear if necssary. Alwaays worked for me anyway.
Might be easier to push a well worn 948 that some of the iron I had to push
off.
