An interesting side note on teak - I have a few pieces of teak planking removed
from the deck of the Queen Mary back when it was turned into a tourist
attraction
in the seventies. They had to cut holes in the deck for air conditioning.

The Queen Mary was completed in 1936. Back then it took about 8 years for a
teak
log to make it from a standing tree to lumber available for use. That means
that
this teak was probably cut down in the late twenties and is now 80 years old.
When I cut a piece of this stuff with a saw teak oil oozes out. Amazing (to me
at
least) - 80 year old lumber that still is saturated with oil.

Rick
