Anyone come upon misalighnment problems with alternators? I am replacing water
pump and alt. and get the the alt. part and boy is it out of alignment with the
belt. It looks like the back of the alt. should be more towards the block of
the engine, but the only way I can see to do this is to bend the rear bracket
that is bolted to the engine. Then I would be worried about stressing the ear
on the water pump that holds the front of the alt. And stress on the ear is
exactly why I'm replacing the water pump!!!! Any suggestions?
