Of the head gaskets I have blown, all were copper.
An old time mechanic told me once that starting it up, driving 2 or 3
miles to work and shutting it off is the prime reason for blowing head
gaskets if everything is correct engine wise.
Short runs. You had to be there to hear his exact reason, but I will
never forget his hand gestures as he was expalining it to me. It made
sense the way he said it.
