the dremel tool will work. although you might find it a bit under powered
in the torque department for serious metal removal. if you choose to go
that route do make shure you purchase the variable speed dual ball bearing
model. there is a cheap model out there with a bushing on one end and it
does not stand up well to extended periods of high speed grinding. an air
powered die grinder is "the" way to go when doing serious metal excavating.
just remember if you choose air powered tools to drain your compressor of
water frequently , drain your water seperator/drier with a degree of
frequency (this varies and you will find out what works for your climate.
high humidity more frequent than low humidity climates) , and remember to
lubricate the air tool regularly(some manufacturers recomend before each
use. if you do not have an inline oiler installed).
oh yeah! wear protective goggles! those little metal chips from carbide
burrs will fly evrywhere and are sharp as the dickens. they are hard to
find after they stick in your skin too!! try to wear a long sleve shirt to
minimise exposed skin so you will not end up with too much metal stuck in
your arms. and if you have an appointment for a MRI anywhere tell the
technician you are messing with ferrous metals!!!

chuck.
too much personal experience here. been there done that and had to do it
over...... :)
