The 16 rpm setting was for what used to be called the "Spoken Word" recordings back in the '50s. Books for the blind, etc, usually came on 16 rpm disks, as well as a lot of early Language Learning recordings. About the time tapes started to become more "normal," the 16 rpm disks disappeared. chuckc |
