A hard top is a device you have, spend time finding somewhere to store it so
that one day when it rains and there is a club run, you can get up very
early spend hours finding the right fittings, struggling to fit it without
scratching the paint work and then hoping it does not leak. You can then
turn up to the meet and be congratulated on having a hardtop. You then go
out on a run and because it's England the sun comes out and it stops pouring
down, everyone else, of course, stops and puts their hoods down, you curse
because now you wished you had not fitted it!
The others just smile knowingly.
