Another 1275 Ribcase Problem

After installing the remote unit, and the shifter to make testing a
little easier, the results were as follows:
First gear - no problem
Second gear - no problem
Fourth gear - no problem
Reverse gear - no problem
Third gear - however, will only engage if I go to reverse first - not a
good procedure I think.

Suggestions?
