Every 1380 I've seen needs a BUNCH of crank breathing! The belt hole is not
adequate and is in direct line with the oil thrown off the front crank
journal if you open it up. To get enough breathing, a fitting is sold for
the fuel pump hole on the front driver side of the block (assuming you have
one and are using other than mech. pump.) The fitting is to allow breathing
without oil being able to get into the tube and clog it. If you try to
breath from the valve cover, you will get alot of oil trown off the rockers
and get a clog. Most big bore engines vent into a catch basin since real
high RPM's will send some oil out any breather hole (except the old cam cover
that was a wet sump with indirect access to the crankcase.) Don't vent to a
carb or air filter or you will appear to be burning oil big time!
