1. don't know
2. yes. it'll fit fine. Quick job as well. Just don't drop the old one in the
pail of gear oil when you remove it. Gear Oil and concrete are a bitch to
seperate once they've met. ;) Gear oil and hair too, especially when said
diffy tips pail and flings oil all over your head.
3. just buy a kit if you so choose. I guarantee rebuilt lever shocks from
Peter C will function just as good if not better than tube shocks. My car
performs significantly better with his rebuilds. Even compared to the old
shocks when recently refilled. My friend with tube shocks (spax) easily
reaches the end of his travel on the shocks, even with new springs.

we have a couple of things we've come to not understand.
 1. We need to hone the cylinders on the front brake calipers. The
repair books say not to break the halves apart, but we can't hone them
together. Is there something we don't know about with this job?
 2. We want to put the gears and axles from the '73 rear end in the '59
casing. Will this work?
 3. We want to try putting tube shocks on the rear. Is there an easy
way to fabricate the necessary brackets?

Thanks for any help you can give.
