My favorite toy has been down since the Frostbite 200. Now, mucho
machining, new pistons/rings/valve guides/valves/bearings/tappets and an
overall cleaning and painting later, the motor is finished. Finally got it
all together just before the start of the stupor bowl. A gentle test drive
was in order to let the new rings and pistons get comfy in the bores. It
runs great, not a drop of leakage yet. After a few miles to let the new
tappets and valves get to know the rest of the valve train, I'll readjust
the valve clearance, recheck the timing and carb tune. So its not quite
ready to go zipping around the hills yet, but by next weekend.......

I know I should treat the motor a little better this time, maybe even get a
rev limiter for the igintion, but in the end I think of Frank C's line,
"Drive it like you stole it" So until the next blown motor, keep your eyes
on the rearview, I'm coming up on ya!
