If you top up the carbs, they will vent out excess oil to seek the
proper level.
Do not fill them up past the inner piston top collar. Never fill them
all the way up or they will drip out on your manifold (via squirting up
on the under side of the bonnet then dripping on the exhaust.
Also check the small waterpump/head bypass hose, it may be leaking onto
the exhaust.
Or too full a radiator will blow off when the t/stat opens and leak
coolant onto the exhaust pipe making like a smoke screen from under the
car.
