The period speedwell bonnets were also available in fibreglass. Tony Bennetto
of the Bugeye Barn has what is possibly one of the original fibreglass ones. Or
at least
he had it a couple of years ago..

New fibreglass sebring bonnets are also available in both the UK and Australia.

Colin Dodds (cdodds@presto.net.au) sells them down under (also available in
carbon/kevlar!)
The $Aus is worth nothing right now, so that 5lb Sebring bonnet wouldn't be too
painful to the
hip pocket.

I think it is Archer plastics that sells them in the UK. Sorry I don't have the
details on hand.

Last time I looked, Tom Colby at Speedwell (TomSpeedwell@aol.com) was bringing
in the
complete fibreglass bodywork (including the bonnet) from the UK.

So you have 3 choices for what is arguably the prettiest mod you can do to your
spridget.

See http://reality.sgi.com/ahsdc/images/3sprites.htm or
http://reality.sgi.com/ahsdc/images/hughes3.htm
for an example of the bonnet on a very nice Sprite.

cheers, Mike
