Haynes is wrong. It is a bit easier with the windshield out but not half
as bad as trying to get the dash out.
Undo the 2 bolts from under the dash, undo the 2 bolts at the center
post, get a helper (or drop the top and stand on the hump) and lift it
off. A little fussing with the correct length extension will get the
socket on the bolt under the dash.
One bolt is threaded into the windshield post, the other has a nut.
The center post bolts have captive nuts too so just unscrew them from
above.
