I am having a bit of trouble with my Midget 1500
clutch. (same as spitfire 1500)

The trouble is that the throwout arm is too
loose on it's pivot.

If I remove the clutch slave cylinder and grab
the little arm that sticks out, I can shake it
all around, it's loose at the other side (where
the pivot is).

The original design has a pin that goes through
the bellhousing, and through the end of the throwout
arm. However inside this joint is a bushing that
keeps everything snug.

Trouble for me: I have one of the bushings but
I don't think it's possible to insert this from
the outside. I beleive the assembly order is
to put this bushing in the arm, put it in the
bellhousing, press the pin through.

From the outside, I haven't had any luck.

Ideas? I thought about just using a fatter
pin, anyone try that before?

Any ideas on snugging this up without
pulling the engine and tranny?
