A perfect end to a perfect week here on the beach in
FL...

Lynette and I had dinner and drinks with Larry Cogan
and his S.O. Jody a few nights ago, and we started
talking about his beautiful 1970 Midget. We had a
great time, and Larry decided he'd sell me the car for
what I considered an absurdly low price, if the car
was in the condition I remembered it to be. So the
next day...a short drive to Larry's place while
Lynette is at lunch with friends. I looked at the
car, I could not find a flaw or a spec of rust on the
car anywhere. Nice "light" BRG, fully undercoated,
complete, nice interior. Not a crack or scuff on the
dash. All gauges worked perfectly with no needle
bounce (weird). Tight 1275, a little puff of smoke on
throttle lift, no apparent leaks. Snug Top hardtop,
tons of spares with another 1275/ribcase, full axle
w/diff, gauges, you name it. Lynette comes by after
lunch, and after a brief ride, says "we look at
hundreds of these things, they're never this nice. Go
ahead." So I'm 1200 miles from home, what the hell,
it's mine! The car is washed, waxed, covered and put
away for now. It'll sit in my mom's garage here until
I can bring it home, and she graciously sprung for a
dehumidifier as she is literally 100 feet from the
Atlantic Ocean.

I cannot say enough good things about Larry. A class
act all the way. A genuine pleasure to see him as
always, and I have never had so much fun buying a car.
The scans at the link below were done by a local drug
store during film processing, they suck and don't do
the car justice, but here ya go (assuming the link
works):

The optimist says the glass is half full.
The pessimist says the glass is half empty.
The engineer says the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
The British car owner says it's leaking.
