Dave, are you sure that you havn't got a blown head gasket or cracked
head or manifold? Wouldn't necessarily get water into the oil, but
might get it into the cylinders where it would disappear.
If that quantity of water isn't coming out somewhere, then it must be
going somewhere.
Do you have a carb. manifold that is pre-heated with a connection to
the water system?
