I'm hoping one of the engine gurus on the List will be able to steer me in
the right direction on this problem. One of my LBCs (a '70 Mini with its
original single carb, not a Spridget) has a problem with the engine dying
whenever I take my foot off the accelerator. It idles fine, runs fine
without loss of power at speed in all 4 gears, and doesn't miss, either
while idling or at speed. But if I rev it up when it's idling, then take my
foot off the accelerator, the engine dies. If I rev it up, then very, very
slowly let the RPMs decrease, it's not as likely to die out. The electric
fuel pump is working fine, as I can hear it click intermittently, and with
the gas line removed from the carb, there's good flow of fuel. Is my
problem an air leak somewhere, and if so, why does the car idle like it's
supposed to until I rev it up?

TIA,
Bob
