Okay, this is not for the anal at heart. It is however
endorsed by the "We Tight" Club.

I took a spare cylinder head sitting on the bench and
measured the intake centerlines. I checked this
measurement also against a 1-1/4 intake as well. I
measured the stock MGB intake and subtracted the
difference. The difference was just over an inch or
so. I then sawed a section out (actually the center
pollution fitting boss) of the B intake, that was an
1/8 inch or so less the measurement difference. I then
filed by hand, the two halves, testing them on the
head until they fit perfectly. I actually made them
just a little shorter by about 1/16 of an inch.

Also you need to cut and file the bolting flanges to
fit around the mounting studs. Also the thickness of
the mounting flanges must be cut down to match the
thickness of your exhaust manifold flanges. The B
manifold is much thicker here.

I then test fit everything. Next I tapped the interior
diameter of the crossover plenum tube with a 1/2 pipe
tap. The manifold is a little too big to get a full
cut of threads in it, but enough were cut to allow a
pipe nipple to thread into it. I assembled the two
halves and test fit them on the cylinder head.

After everything fit well, I disassembled the two
halves, mixed a good batch of JB Weld, coated
everything, and reassembled the intake and bolted it
to the cylinder head overnight while the JB Weld
dried. All of this was easily accomplished in one
evening.

Intake is now in place on my motor and working fine,
providing good peppy acceleration on a stock 1275. If
anyone wants to try this I can post what SU carbs and
needles I am using.
