Your right Robert, they figured out a formula. That's one of the things
that Steve Johnson is looking at with the SCCA, creating a brand and
marketing it to a larger audience. Even though "road racing" doesn't fit
the NASCAR style "mold" (big stadium, seating for 200,000+) it can work
on the idiot box. The old "if you build it they will come" applies but
you gotta build something that people what to "buy".

yeah, but as much as i hate to admit it, ya gotta give the nascar guys
credit.
they did what it took to get themselves where they are.
how many sporty car guys are gonna spend the effort and money to get
their sanctioning bodies to be where nascar is?
how many sporty car guys have there pictures on a cereal box or trading
cards..
Nascar did there homework, i give them credit for that.
sure i would LOVE to see vintage/grassroots/scca,sportycar/ lemans
series/ trans am, whatever..on the idiot box.
but you gotta find the "formula" that nascar did to get attention and
sponsors and spectators.
the right influential people gotta put forth the right efforts.
who's gonna be the first to put there livelyhood on the line and go out
there and promote themselves?
heck i feel like i am one the luckiest guys out here because i have a
small brake sponsor.
i dont think kellogs,Tide, UPS, or Viagra, is gonna sponsor my ginetta
or sprite. well, viagra maybe..
shoot me down if you wish, but i sorta admire the guys, i only wish they
were driving something worthwhile.
