pickle fork width?

Hey You Guyz,

I'm busily trying to find a "pickle fork" type
of remover to separate the tie rod ends from the
steering arms on my '72. Most of them I've seen
locally are about 1 1/2" between the prongs, wich
seems way too wide. What can I expect to find:
maybe 3/4" between ??
