Yes, White/red stripe runs from the key to the solenoid. This works in the crank
position.
There is also a couple solid brown wires, one is power from battery to 
everything
else, if there is a smaller brown wire, it is an accessory hot wire and/or 
hazard
switch power.

(MKIII Sprites anyway) MKIII Midgets may have an extra wire or a white/green
stripe wire if it has a locking steering column.
