Obviously, you have one of the unheated
types. OK, let's go from there.

Unheated intake manifolds make for
richer carb. settings, especially in terms
of "progression" to prevent off-idle "bogs"
(flat spots) during acceleration.

Notice that as you "richen" the mixture
by utilizing the choke, the flat spot on
acceleration disappears.

So, I respectfully suggest you
follow the information in David C.'s
post on this thread to begin so as to
be sure everything is "correct" with 
your current set-up before we start
talking about re-jetting for richer
"progression".  No sense putting the
cart before the horse!!

David C. has run one of these set-ups
for some time and knows the subject
better than I!! :)
