I had great success in removing the oxidation from my MG's hood and fenders
with 3M Foam Applicator glazing compound Part number 5996 (I tihink).  It
didn't get all of the oxidation and water spots but it sure made a big
difference.  A top coat of Maguires Gold Class wax and it is all bright and
shiny.
