Engine Builders

I have been thinking about a sporty 1275 for my "stock" Bugeye - with a
5 speed conversion thrown in (seems like many others have been thinking
the same way).  While I like to do basic work on the Bugeye - tuning,
bolt-on suspension work, etc - I am not necessarily interested in
building the new engine myself.



I notice that the latest Mini-Mania Spriget catalog is offering engines
at a couple levels of tune for about $3k to $5k.


Is there any consensus of good engine builders out there with a strong
knowledge of the 1275 and Sprites?  I am looking for a decent value
rather than the lowest possible price.  I am in the Washington D.C. area
and there doesn't seem to be anyone local.
