I assume we are talking Series "A" and
not 1500.

The 5 speed conversion is (IMHO) one
of the best upgrades for the money on
a 1275, or a 1098 (the latter providing you
retain at least a 3.9 diff ratio).

Both first and second gears are slightly
"shorter" than the stock Spridget 4 spd.'s
1st and 2nd. 5th will allow you to cruise
all day at 3200 doing 70mph with 155x13
or 175/70-13's with the 3.7.

What is really nice is the quietness of the
5spd. vs the stock 4spd. and sychro. on
1st. You will have a little "scrunch" from
1st to 2nd until the 5spd. warms up a bit...
all perfectly normal! :)
