Well, Ed...

No wonder the 2000 Datsuns were so fast..very efficient engine. A
portend of
what was to come in time from the
Japanese. I missed out on this one in
this respect for sure.

Was it the 1600 which was the "Fairlady"?

I seem to remember a model prior to the
1600....one that was more "Italian" looking
than the 1600 and 2000 models, and powered by a 1500 engine.

Of course, this was many, many years ago....I could be wrong, and very
easily
so in this case for sure considering I
was into strictly LBC's and of course,
the sexy Porsche Speedsters with their
cool "low" convertible tops...what a neat
car this was and what a terrific sound with
a well broken-in quad Abarth. And of course, the TR3's with their gutsy
engines
and neat cutdown cockpits.

God...those were such great days to be
growing up in America in the NYC Metro
area...seaplanes, the cars, R & Roll and
the Beatles, the girls, NYC, the girls, leaded octanes, the girls....the
Edsel!!
