My preference is the Pertronix for reasons of cleanliness. I installed the
Crane / Allison setup in my B and it was a pain to mount the extra stuff.
Everything under the cap is a beautiful thing.
Do make sure that the little braided cable that grounds the moving plate in
the distributor to the case of the distributor is intact and functional;
Pertronix units do not survive very long without a good ground whether
positive or negative.

The timing is regulated by the opening of the points. If the rotor arm is
affecting your timing, you need to play with the relationship between the
moving plate and the body of the dizzy. You are probably going to be losing
spark efficiency at some part of your advance curve otherwise.
