I have a HIF 6 on my '73 Midget. I got the manifold on ebay before it
became such a madhouse. Some lister sold me 4 HIF-6s (from Volvos) for
<$50 (Thanks again). I bought rebuild kits from SU Midel in Australia.
I had to tinker with the carbs a bit and make a linkage. But, for less
than $100, I'm very pleased. SUs are great little carbs. Your friend
should have little trouble finding you a good setup over there. I think
the Metros had single HIFs on them. While you're at it, get him to send
a Metro turbo setup over.
