As in, "I'm going down the beach." I'll never figure out why the word "to"
is left out of that sentence, but I've been saying it that way all of my
life!
Actually, when you are in Philly, you can go "down the shore." But if you
are at the Jersey shore (NOT the one in PA!) you are already down the shore,
so you go down the beach. Clear?
