Please everyone, let's simmer down here. I had no intention of getting
anybody upset with what I thought was a harmless question. At any rate
it looks like possibly some things are going to the list, some are
private, and misunderstandings are occurring. Here's the sequence as
I've seen things come across my desk:
1) I asked the question about exhaust, and went to grab a bite of lunch
2) Came back after lunch, and had a couple of replies. I went and
implemented what was suggested and things seemed OK.
3) Later I checked mail again and found some more responses, including a
couple of private messages from Ed offering phone help. But since the
problem seemed to solved I sent a general thanks to the list for all the
help.
4) I received a message from Rick, upset that I had not taken up Ed on
his offer and explaining some problems I was not aware of from the other
replies. The "To:" header field contained BOTH my personal address and
the spridgets address. Looking back at it it looks like I only received
one copy to me directly - not a copy to the list as well. I don't know
why the spridgets address is in there but it didn't go to the list.
5) I replied to this message to both Rick and the list, since it at
least appeared to have been addressed to the list as well. I would not
have replied on list if I had realized that the original had not gone to
the list. My reply contained the full original text of the message with
my comments interspersed.
6) Things start heating up...
Anyway, let's don't let this go any further. As for me I'm not mad at
anyone and I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I'll continue this privately
as appropriate.
