Not a bad idea.
I have one I am working on right now. It's going to be a spare because I
had just about all the parts to rebuild one sitting on shelves and in
boxes. (I am a swap meet junkie) I was missing a crank but there was a
swap meet last Sunday and guess what I found in the pick up truck parked
next to me? A crankshaft!! (Thanks Kevin) It was in a seized up block
but that was Sunday, I had the crank out sunday night. I'm still working
on the pistons, 2 to go.

This engine is just getting new pistons, bearings, oil pump, and
gaskets. I have a head that was done not too long ago that will go on
it. It is stock. The borrower can use his/her carbs, dizzy, gen/alt and
exhaust manifold. Sign it out on a sign up sheet. Maybe a deposit to
make sure it comes back ;)
