Hi, Guy...

These clearances are not all that
critical, usually. SLIGHTLY more tight
will favor the bottom end, SLIGHTLY loose will favor the top, according
to
my mechanic, who also advised the
.02 difference between hot & cold.

TOO tight may also burn valves,
so always better slightly loose is his
motto and thus, mine. 

For lash adjusted hot, I would begin
with the +.02, get it warmed to operating
temp. and check 'em out running.
