No...you're right!!

I noticed this on the stock set-up on
my old '74. I often wondered whether
they weren't meant to be this way to
some extent as part of "give".

All my stock stuff is long gone..sorry.

I have an ADDCO set-up on my current
BE with poly-bush"i" and have not noticed
this. The drop links are different from stock. As a matter of fact, we
had a bush
mount detach itself from the "frame".

So we pulled the bar, opened up the bottom of the other front "frame"
member
and welded in some strong "plates" for
mounting the bush"i". 

This bar ain't walking, trotting or "going"
anywhere! :):)
