Hi James,

I separate them whenever I do a rebuild.  Almost impossible not to and do a good
job.  Because the nylon insert in the bolt is usually toast, I use thread locker
when I re-assemble them.

BTW, how do they expect you to get that special flat washer in there without
separating them?
