LOL...

I was wondering when somebody was
gonna bring this up!! I love the fully
fly by wire system of the Airbus (NOT!)....which in the past has
resulted
 in "uncommanded" aircraft
gyrations about all three axis from time to
time in earlier models.....it's been quite a
while so I guess they got "the problem"
licked though they still haven't come out
with a cause (as far as I know) for the
latest Airbus JFK "tear the tail off the
aircraft" accident.

Most likely and probably will blame the
pilot as the most cost-effective way to
deal with this one, despite the auto
feature of the relationship between yaw
damper and rudder in accordance with
what mechanics mentioned to me at that
time. Don't really "know" but airframe is
designed against improper pilot input
within "maneuvering speed operating envelope" which the aircraft was
well
within at the time of the event.

The Boeing fly by wire system is a little
different...not fully fly by wire....a partial
system of some sort I guess...a la MiG
rather than F-16. I will have to ask my
buddy who has flown both Airbus and
all current Boeing "700" types.

Computers are great until you get one
wild hair electron doing it's own thing but
then again, they have three of these on
board and the two "right ones" gang up
on the "wrong" one and appropriate auto-shutdown and "reboot" occurs.

I guess if this doesn't work, the two others
form a "coalition" of the "righteous" against the "evil" one and launch
a pre-emptive strike on the
"offender" and take him out until he can
get fixed or replaced!
