Well, the generator is fixed and the 45 year old voltage regulator has been
brought back to life.
For what its worth, the new knock-off voltage regulators that lack the
"LUCAS" logo on the bakelite cover seem to work OK (until the generator
problem fried mine). Its probably salvageable if I file the welded points
flat and re-gap them.
The old regulator cover fits the new base just fine if you want to still
look original with the "LUCAS" logo proudly(?) displayed atop the Chinese
guts. Use the old regulator terminal screws if you want it to look
appropriately old.
