Vent the gas cap. It will be fine.
Keep the charcoal canister and overflow system as it is but just add a 
hose and let it down under the back of the car.
It's a better setup then the early Spridgets dumping gas out of the carb 
float bowl onto the exhaust manifold. Or you can just do what us early 
owners do, fix that leak as soon as you smell it cause we know it dumps 
out on a hot manifold ;)
